Since I was a child, I have found myself frequently slipping away from reality into the world of daydreams. Between trying to remember the previous night's dream, thinking about what will happen next in my book, or accidentally tuning out the conversation or lecture I was supposed to be listening to, entering these dreams inevitably leads to a subtle distortion and disconnection from reality. People experience this constantly yet it is such a difficult thing to try and explain with words. Through this series, I am aiming to create a visual representation of how it feels to go in and out of daydreams and the attempts in trying to weave and piece together what one is dreaming about versus what they are actually experiencing. To help define the beauty of distortion, all the photos were taken with a lens baby and hand cut and woven together after.
